Social Work
Social work is a helping profession that promotes emotional, physical and psychosocial health. Social workers at Misericordia Health Centre are dedicated to improving the health and well-being of individuals, families and communities. Social workers are skilled in understanding how our whole self is affected during times of stress and illness.
Programs
Social workers are involved in both long-term care, including transitional care and Misericordia Place, as well as acute care, serving our Eye Care Centre of Excellence, Easy Street rehabilitation, MHC for Lungs and ambulatory care.

Services
Social Work services may include psychosocial assessments, care planning, resource and supportive counselling, advocacy and community referral if required.
Social Workers also provide services to residents, their families, patients and community members through organizing and facilitating:

- Resident and Family Council Meetings
